Essay

Please address one of the following questions. Short Constructed Responses: Your response should be approximately 350 words in length, double-spaced. Please identify the question number in your responses.

  1. Describe the importance of a “great” teacher. Discuss what has influenced your decision to become a teacher and what special skills and interest you bring to teaching.
  2. NxtGEN partners with Denver metro area schools which supports a highly diverse student population. What do you think are the three most important skills and/or attitudes that you will need to work most effectively with diverse students as a ParaEducator Intern?
  3. Describe a time when you had to persist in the face of challenge or obstacles? What did you learn from that experience that will contribute to your success as a NxtGEN candidate navigating both college coursework and working as a ParaEducator Intern?

Interview

Required CU Denver NxtGEN interviews for Early and Regular Admission will be held at CU Denver following the respective application deadlines.

CU Denver Partner School placement interviews for NxtGEN will be held with multiple school sites based on student preference. Both early and regular admitted students must participate in these interviews. A schedule of interview dates and times will be provided to you.
