The Career Center recognizes that students can face financial barriers to professional development opportunities. The Career Center is committed to helping address these barriers, and supporting our students achieving their professional development goals, by providing the Career Development Grant. Some instructions are below.

Please read the entire webpage dedicated to this grant before filling out the form: Career Development Grant (ucdenver.edu)

What can funds be used for?

The Career Development Grant provides students from underrepresented groups with access to up to $500 in funding for professional development activities, expenses for professional attire, travel expenses to attend a professional interview, professional organization memberships, as well as graduate school application costs. Funds cannot be used for conferences or travel outside of the 48 contiguous states.

Applications will be evaluated in four categories:

Applicant’s Statement of Purpose is clear as to how funds enhance or support their career goals
Funds requested demonstrate clear ties to academics and career growth
Applicant provides appropriate and accurate documentation of how funds will be used
Applicant has financial need

***A word about "accurate documentation": This includes an accounting of the amount you are asking for (ie: $275 for student registration; $50 for student membership) backed up by screen grabs and/or receipts showing your costs. Simply referring us to a webpage with multiple options is not enough.

Fill out all fields and attach any required documents for your application. Once your application is received, it will be reviewed at the beginning of the month following your submission date and you will be contacted after review of application to discuss next steps.
