MEIS Administrative Appointment Interest Submission


Thank you for your interest in serving the College and MEIS!  Please take a moment to review the open administrative positions and submit your application and CV for review.  

Department Administrative Appointment Process:

  • Department submits a request to appoint an Administrative position 
  • Dean(s) reviews/approve requested administrative role(s)
  • CAM-People/HR will post the position(s) to the CAM-HR website
  • CAM-People/HR Team or designee will issue call for applications
  • Interested faculty submit application by deadline
  • CAM-People/HR Team will send all applications to Department Chair and Associate Dean
  • Application review and interviews conducted
  • Department Chair will present appointment recommendations to the Deans for review and official approval and acknowledgement
  • Announcements made, by Department Chair or designee
  • Contracts begin and correlate to the academic year/semester dates and may be prorated dependent upon start date (i.e. an AY appointment runs 9/1 - 5/31); any applicable summer work will be separately requested, reviewed for approval ahead of the work being done, and compensated, if approved)

Compensation, for the academic year:

  • Associate Chair $10,000 
  • Program Director $7,000
  • Area Coordinator $5000

Voice Are Coordinator - example duties

  • Point person for Singer/Songwriter & Performance
  • Track, manage, assess, and audition all incoming voice students
  • Advise Chair on studio & equipment needs
  • Coordinate voice juries
    • Hire piano accompanist
  • Assist with applied voice lesson schedules & studio assignments
  • Assist with voice faculty hiring
  • Liaison between voice lecturers & Program Directors
  • Coordinate alignment of learning goals
    • Inclusivity, relevance, curriculum development

Associate Chair - example duties

  • Curriculum - assist chair on matters related to curriculum
  • King Center Advisory Committee
  • Oversee, organize, and make recommendations for faculty service and appropriate committee work
  • Oversee Faculty Development Grant proposals and assist the Chair.
  • Work directly with Chair to assist with faculty initiatives, mentoring, support/resources
  • Assist Chair on annual merit review process
  • Assist and advise with new faculty hires and departmental onboarding protocol
  • Split scheduling with the Chair
    • assist with scheduling (faculty appointments, loads, etc.) 
  • Other areas as needed/determined by the Chair
